Green tea Gunpowder with mint - Morocco: a gustatory journey to the Maghreb

\n

Today, I invite you to take a one-way trip to Morocco. When we think of tea, we naturally think of Asia, the privileged land for the cultivation of tea leaves. But when you think of mint tea, you are immediately transported to the Maghreb.

\n

So yes, of course, Asia is never far away since it is a premium Gunpowder green tea from China that I offer. This tea comes from the province of Zhejiang which is located in the east of the country, under the big city of Shanghai.

\n

This tea has been cultivated since the Tang Dynasty took over the country, almost 1,500 years ago. However, it was not until the 19th century that it made its appearance in the Maghreb and became the most popular product for making mint tea.

\n

This tea is strong in theine and offers full-bodied notes that are counterbalanced by the sweetness and freshness of mint.

\n

If you enjoy iced tea, my mint tea will delight your taste buds all summer long.

\n

What are the flavors of Gunpowder Mint Green Tea - Morocco?

\n

No suspense, this tea tastes like... mint. And that\'s what you\'re looking for, right? It offers an intense and balanced aroma. Even if you don\'t sweeten your tea, it can be nice to put a little sugar in it for a sweet tasting.

Green tea Gunpowder with mint - Morocco: from the plantation to the cup

\n

Before arriving in your cup for a tasting full of flavor, the Gunpowder tea leaves are harvested in the province of Zhejiang in China. They are roasted to kill the enzymes that cause oxidation. Remember, green tea, unlike black tea, is not oxidized. This step is therefore essential.

\n

Then, the leaves are rolled. Open your bag of Gunpowder green tea with mint, you will see these small leaves perfectly rolled. Again, this is an essential step since the rolling will impact the notes in the mouth. Compare your teas and you will see that not all the leaves are rolled in the same way.

\n

Finally, the leaves are dried to reach a moisture content close to 5%. It is this step in the production of green tea that allows it to be stored for a long time (even if mint green tea never stays in a cupboard for long!).

\n

Food and tea: David Vanille\'s pairings

\n

For a gustatory trip to Morocco, I would like to suggest you to taste my Gunpowder mint tea with oriental cakes like gazelle horns, loukoums or baklavas.

\n

You can also imagine a non-alcoholic aperitif with a mint green tea accompanied by dried fruits (almonds, peanuts, pistachios, etc.).

Assez satisfaite, mais le gout de la menthe n'est pas si prononcé que je le pensais. Dommage.
