The dimensions of this Amazonian variety leaves us speechless. Some of the pods in this batch were naturally fertilized by native bees (Euglossines). We were impressed by the quality and appearance of this new crop. The pods of the variety Pompona Schiede (Grandiflora) are very rich in vanillin. These pods are extremely difficult to produce. More than 85% of the pods fall off the plant or split before full maturity. This year, we were lucky enough to receive a few hundred grams of this exceptional Grand Cru. This vanilla will delight all lovers of rare and "off the beaten track" spices.
