Black tea - Red Lips - wild berry scented: from the plantation to the cup

Yunnan black tea is grown in China. This region is known for producing many famous teas throughout the world. It is true that its climate is very favorable between heat and humidity. All the conditions are met to offer you an exceptional tea.

To develop their floral notes, Yunnan black tea leaves follow a strict 5-step transformation process:
- withering: the tea leaves are placed on racks in a ventilated room at between 20 and 24°. Here, they lose about 50% of their moisture;
- rolling: the withering stage allows the leaf to soften, which facilitates rolling. The more a leaf is rolled, the more full-bodied the tea;
- oxidation: remember that black tea is an oxidized tea, so it must undergo a specific stage. The leaves are placed in rooms where the heat and humidity are controlled;
- roasting: this stops the oxidation. The leaves are heated to about 90° for about fifteen minutes;
- sorting: the tea is sorted into two grades, either whole leaves or broken leaves.
