What is the cinnamon berry?

The cinnamon berry is the fruit of the Ceylon cinnamon tree. If this berry still seems to be unknown, you know its congeneric: the cinnamon. The latter is none other than the bark of the cinnamon tree. So, with my cinnamon berries, I propose to taste another part of this tree which offers unique and intense flavors. If you like cinnamon, the cinnamon berry is for you. The cinnamon berry is aesthetically similar to a clove or to original peppers with a small tail such as the Voatsiperifery red pepper or the passion fruit pepper. When you taste it, you will wonder why you didn't know it before! It will come to perfume all your cooking and revolutionize your dishes in a very economic way, no need to put a lot of it to bring to your recipes this small more which will make all the difference.

What is the flavor of the cinnamon berry?

When you taste cinnamon berry, you will find that unique flavor that is unique to cinnamon. There is no secret, these two products come from the same tree. However, the cinnamon berries go even further by bringing a light spiciness. You will also find light notes of caramel and licorice on the finish.

The harvest of the cinnamon berry ?

The cinnamon berry comes from the cinnamon tree, the bark of which is harvested to obtain cinnamon. The Cinnamomum verum is a very beautiful tree that can reach 10 to 15 m high. These berries are small fruits that are harvested when ripe. For perfect ripeness and to ensure that nature is respected, the berries are picked as they fall from the tree. Here, no harvesting too early, your cinnamon berries will have had plenty of time to develop their flavors.

How to use the cinnamon berry?

Cinnamon berries can be used in berry form or as a powder. Similar to pepper, you can choose to grind these berries in your pepper mill.

With its spicy and sweet taste, the cinnamon berry can perfectly integrate a savory recipe. I suggest you make meatballs with parsley, coriander, various spices, and of course, cinnamon berry. Serve with rice or quinoa.

Belle découverte de cette baies qui domine en cannelle avec une pointe de girofle. Il fera merveille dans mes préparation chaudes ou froides à base de vin rouge.
