The catuaba is an extremely powerful wood bandage. This plant comes to us from the north of Brazil. The erythroxylum catuaba belongs to the family of Erythroxylaceae. If it belongs to the same genus as coca, don't worry, it does not contain cocaine. Also, consuming catuaba is neither forbidden, nor dangerous for your health. The catuaba is a banded wood which is none other than thebark of the tree of the same name. It is used in Brazilian medicine for two reasons: it has aphrodisiac virtues and stimulates the central nervous system. In addition, according to a study conducted in 1992, this plant helps prevent serious bacterial infections. If the Indians have long adopted catuaba, it was not until the 1950s that this plant officially became part of the pharmacopoeia in Brazil. In Europe, it has been used since the 1920s for its ability to influence the libido and improve erection. The Indians name this plant "what gives strength to the Indian".
The catuaba has both a mineral and grassy taste, it is a fairly full-bodied and fresh plant at the same time.
The catuaba is a plant which can reach two to four meters in height. If it produces yellow and orange flowers, these are not edible. On the other hand, what interests us in this plant, it is its bark. It is it which is collected to provide us this very effective banded wood which is the catuaba. But if we evoke the small catuaba, there is also another tree, the big catuaba, which can reach 10 m high. This time, the flowers are of cream color. However, here again, it is the bark of this tree that interests us.
The catuaba is not integrated in cooking like many plants and spices that I propose here. This plant is mainly used to make infusions. The infusion with the catuaba can be consumed before a sexual intercourse to increase the desire and the performances. It is also in decoction that this banded wood is consumed. Place small pieces of wood in a pan of water and let macerate for 8 hours before boiling for 20 minutes. This decoction is consumed cold, it offers a more important effectiveness than the infusion. This is due to the time of maceration which allows the catuaba to diffuse all its properties in water. To add pleasure to pleasure, I also suggest using catuaba in an arranged rum. There are different recipes for homemade rum, so now is the time to create your own. Steep catuaba in white or dark rum, depending on your preference. Add vanilla (you can find all kinds of vanilla in this store), cinnamon and ginger. Ideally, this preparation should macerate for a good 2 months.
The catuaba is firstly known for its aphrodisiac virtues. This wood banded stimulates the erection in the man and develops the female libido. If it is used against impotence and frigidity, the catuaba is also intended for people who wish to improve their sexual performances. It is the catuabine, an alkaloid, which stimulates the nervous system and the libido. On the other hand, catuaba is used to reduce stress and anxiety, which are both enemies of the libido, everything is related. It is also an aid to concentration. Note that this type of product is not recommended if you suffer from high blood pressure, heart or cardiovascular problems.
