If I say "gingerbread" you will probably make the association with Alsace, the Christmas holidays, the bredele, the story of Hansel and Gretel,..

What if the Spice Mix - Gingerbread came to tell you a completely different story than these Proust madeleines, and made you travel even further in time and space? Let yourself be carried away by flavours as familiar individually as they are unique in this blend.

Gingerbread as we know it today is the worthy heir to the honey bread known and prepared in ancient Egypt and Greece. The Romans quickly adopted him, especially in the armed ranks to give strength and vigour to infantrymen and other soldiers (he is mentioned as "panis mellitus" by Pliny the Elder). It is said to be even more directly derived from a Chinese recipe, the "mid-kong" which, through crusades and other territorial conquests, became known in the Arab countries and then in Northern Europe through monastic networks.

It is precisely in France that we will find the first evocations of the "pain d'espessez" in 1372 and then the "pain d'épices" in 1530.

It is mainly in Alsace, but also in cities such as Reims and Dijon, that gingerbread will obtain an infallible reputation as it delights all palates.

In 2010, the recipe for this thousand-year-old cake was included on UNESCO's list of intangible heritage. A museum is also dedicated to gingerbread in Gertwiller, Alsace.

The Spice Mix - Gingerbread that I propose to you is composed of 6 spices and aromatic herbs scrupulously selected that will deliver the flavors that come to mind at the idea of this delicious pastry.

If cinnamon and cloves wrap up each ingredient in your preparations with their bewitching warmth, ginger will help to give them an incomparable boost of energy, and coriander, aniseed and star anise will bring a guaranteed touch of freshness.

The Spice Mix - Gingerbread will, of course, be the essential ingredient when you are preparing a delicious gingerbread! Enough to make everyone's taste buds feel enchanted, replenished, refreshed... all in one bite of your delicious cake!

A great classic of French cuisine, it is difficult to resist the call of each of the spices that make it up!

Sprinkled on many of your sweet dishes, the divine Spice Mix - Gingerbread will bring out all the flavours of your best dessert recipes.

I myself have assessed the sufficient quantity of each of the ingredients in this mixture to guarantee you an infinite accuracy to avoid any overdose and overly pronounced flavor.

But he will also be able to reserve some surprises for you in dishes in which you did not expect him... You want to know more? Then go to the next chapter.

Whether during the Christmas and New Year holidays or to delight young and old alike, the Spice Mix - Gingerbread will have a special place in the preparation of your delicious gingerbread.

But he knows how to surprise you!

Why not invite your friends and their children to a special snack? A snack whose framework - without necessarily telling your guests - would be this Spice Mix - Gingerbread.

First, you could prepare some Pancakes on which you could sprinkle a little Cassonnade mixed with half a spoonful of this mixture. Why not also prepare Compotes de fruits de saison whose juice expresses both the frank expression of ginger and fresh spices but also the warmth of cinnamon? You still had a few nice fruits left when preparing the compotes: and if we prepared some lovely tarts with very special flavours with a few sprinkles of this blend. At that point, your friends would start asking you some questions like: "What the hell are you putting in your desserts? I find an incredible taste every time but I can't really define it...". Leave a little more suspense, it's so much more fun!

To accompany all this, you can prepare a succulent Black Tea that will have brewed with half a teaspoon of this mixture.

For children, it is always very convenient to prepare a few cookies and other shortbreads, it will allow them to taste your "mystery recipe" while enjoying some outdoor games.

Then, in order to reveal (or not!) to your guests who was the surprise guest of this snack, offer them a slice of this wonderful Gingerbread whose recipe was passed on to you by your grandmother, but whose flavours will be enhanced by this Spice Mix.

But, as you may have read above, this Spice Mix - Gingerbread will surprise you with some rather unexpected dishes.

I suggest you sprinkle half a teaspoon of this Mixture with a few Pink Berries on a slice of Foie Gras and serve with an onion confit. It's just magical!

And to continue the sweet and salty surprises, you can prepare a Spicy Pork Roast that will long be remembered by your taste buds (and may often come back for more!).

On a daily basis, you can also add a little of this Gingerbread Spice Mix to your yogurts or any dairy preparation. You can also prepare a jar of brown sugar that will be at your disposal at any time to prepare sweet recipes.

    Have a good tasting!
