Recipe

French toast is a dish made from bread soaked in a mixture of milk and egg and then baked in a pan or oven. It is known in many parts of the world under various names

It is originally what is called a "poor man's" or "zero waste" dish since it is made from dry bread that could have ended up being thrown away without this recipe. Over time, it has been taken over by the cooks who have enriched and reworked it to make it a real restaurant dessert.

French toast makes it possible to use stale bread but can also be made with leftovers of buns, pastries..

3 eggs
