What is Sicilian salt?

Sicilian salt, in a few words, is a salt full of sun. Its color alone is a journey to the south. This exceptional salt looks like a light curry or colombo when you receive it in its bag. However, there is no confusion. When you open the bag, the Sicilian salt reveals its lemony notes, a little wonder full of surprises. It's a bit like smelling a lemon pie in a salty version, it's amazing to say the least. My Sicilian salt is made of salt, of course, but also of lemon and turmeric, a unique cocktail that will delight the most demanding taste buds.

What is the flavor of Sicilian salt?

To the taste, one discovers indeed this salty and lemony note at the same time, the whole wrapped up in the perfume of turmeric. It surprises, it challenges, but we must admit that it is very good and that ideas are coming up to find perfect associations.

Sicilian Salt Vinaigrette

In the mood for a salad? It's time to prepare a delicious vinaigrette to accompany it. I suggest you use a mixture of oils rich in omega-3 such as rapeseed oil, sunflower oil and sesame oil. Add cider vinegar, Sicilian salt, ginger, parsley and a little mustard. You will flavor all your summer recipes, from simple grated carrots to more elaborate salads according to your desires.

Fish fricassee with lemon and turmeric

Peel shrimp and cut them into pieces. Marinate them with a white fish of your choice in a dish with lemon juice and Sicilian salt. In a wok, fry ginger and onions. Add coconut milk and your fish and shrimp mixture. Let it cook for about ten minutes so that the fish is perfectly cooked. Serve with flat beans and basmati rice.

Lemon confit with Sicilian salt

Use preferably organic lemons that do not have chemicals, we will keep the skin. Wash your lemons and cut them into eight wedges. Peel some garlic and ginger and cut them into small pieces. Squeeze lemons and add your turmeric Sicilian salt to them. Put some coarse salt in a jar, put some lemon wedges, put some coarse salt and then some lemon wedges again, put some garlic and ginger and put a layer of salt and lemon again. Pour the lemon juice with the Sicilian salt. Close tightly with a rubber band, making sure that the edge in contact with it is completely dry. Leave to preserve for at least a week, turning the jar regularly.
