WHAT IS CARIBBEAN SALT?

These vacations in the Caribbean will remain forever engraved in your memory, for sure! How can you remain insensitive to the breathtaking landscapes, the turquoise waters lined with white sand, the hikes around Morne Michot, the Chutes du Carbet, the Pointe des Châteaux salt flats, and all the discoveries you made about the Creole culture!

Of course, you would have dreamed of visiting all the islands that make up this archipelago, but you would have needed much more time for that! So you pallid your frustration by already preparing your next roadmap.

In the meantime, to prolong the pleasure, you decided to pass by the means of the Creole kitchen, and, particularly of this seasoning star of the Caribbean, which you discovered on the spot: the Caribbean Salt.

In the Caribbean Archipelago, this combination of salt, spices and aromatics is the darling of the kitchen along with its counterpart, Colombo. It is to say that its major characteristic will be to bring softness and sun in your plates! The Caribbean Salt is a true Caribbean specialty.

Each of the islands making up the Caribbean Archipelago has its own salt works. These began to be exploited during the 17th century. It is said that a caravel was literally overturned during an incident. It was carrying salt, sugar, spices and aromatics. Everything was completely mixed together, and it was necessary to find a use for it to avoid a mess. This unfortunate accident is finally a good omen since this unexpected assembly turned out to be a wonderful seasoning for the whole salty Creole cuisine!

HOW TO USE THE CARIBBEAN SALT ?

This Caribbean Salt will enchant you first of all by its warm and bewitching color. An amber red color that will take you to the Caribbean islands without a stopover.

To the nose, you will be quickly informed of the powers of seasoning of this Caribbean Salt: paprika, cumin and fennel will give you the keys of its association in cooking. A smoky background note is also well present.

In the mouth, you will experience a real firework of flavors: the ingredients of this blend will present themselves simultaneously to your palate. The salt will open the dance, followed closely by spices and aromatics (paprika, cumin and fennel), then a sweetness comes to give you a little respite before the arrival of the final spicy with a medium length in the mouth.

This blend is ideal when preparing typical Creole dishes, but also for any dish that is ready for a salty-sweet flight.

Whether you want to prepare a pan-fried, baked or barbecued dish, Caribbean Salt will deliver all its flavors to the dishes on which you sprinkle it sparingly.

RECIPE IDEAS WITH CARIBBEAN SALT

With this superb blend of delicately salty-sweet flavors, you can prepare all the typical dishes of the Caribbean.

Creole atmosphere :

Let's start with an aperitif during which your guests can taste your best Ti Punch recipe. In order to enjoy the moment in all conviviality, you will have prepared some delicious chicken colombo, as well as some pepper candies and some shrimp accras. If these dishes are destined to be a great success with your guests, it is because you will have scrupulously chosen the ingredients that compose them, including this tasty Caribbean Salt.

You have conquered the palates of young and old, and have managed to get them on board "Air Caraïbes"? So let's continue the journey with great classics of Creole cuisine that will see their flavors multiplied and rounded thanks to the salty-sweet aspect of the Sel Caraïbes. You will be able to treat each of your guests, whatever their culinary preference. For meat lovers, you can prepare a Rougail Saucisses, a sublime Poulet Boucané or a surprising Cochon Roussi et Pois d'Angole. Those who like iodized flavors will also be pleasantly surprised when they taste a tasty Crab Matéte, a Shrimp Curry or a sublime Creole Fish Colombo that you will have seasoned with Caribbean Salt.

Creole-style vegetables will also have their moment of glory if you add this Caribbean Salt to them. Prepare delicious Vegetable Achards, a succulent Rice with red beans, or a warm Sweet Potato Gratin.

If this salt is ideal for all your preparations from Creole cuisine, it will surprise you with its salty-sweet flavor (which, in the case of a grilled dish, will bring a touch of caramel), which it confers to each dish in which you use it.

So, I invite you to try this salt when you make your tomato-based sauces, but also in any type of broth, Creole sauce or even by mixing it with coconut milk.

This salt is sufficient on its own and will allow, in half a spoon sprinkled, to confer to your steamed vegetables new flavours.

In the same way, your crudenesses will be particularly noticed if you integrate in their vinaigrette sauce a little of this succulent Caribbean Salt.

Composition : Salt, dextrose of wheat, paprika, cumin, fennel, oil of sunflower, colouring agents E160c, E120, Antioxidants E301, E300, flavours.
